Yesterday I was coming in with some groceries and bumped into my standing book case. A couple of books fell out and the first one I picked up was Acts of Faith by Iyanla Vanzant. (Daily meditations for people of color) I had no idea this book was in my house! Anyway, the goal of the offerings in the book is to assist the children of the earth in the redevelopment of their minds, bodies and spirits. There’s more but to me just that part alone made me want to read more. The book has a date and for each day has an act of faith and a biblical quote. I’m going to try to share one every morning starting today. The entry might not relate to you personally but I’m sure sharing will help someone reading, as they will help me. Feel free to reblog them and pick up the book, its really interesting.
Forgive and you will be forgiven. – Luke 6:37
Everybody has had someone who has “done them wrong.” When someone hurts us, we want to hurt them back. We live in anger and thoughts of revenge. We want to see the suffer. We want them to feel what we have felt. We want them to know they can’t get away with what they did. But they did get away if your anger keeps you stuck in the situation. When the table turn, we make mistakes, we create pain for others, and we cannot understand why they do not or cannot forgive us. Perhaps it is because there is someone we need to forgive. Forgiveness frees us from pain of the past and moves us to beyond our mistakes in the future. What you give you get. When you forgive, forgiveness is there for you if you need it.
Think this, say this and mean it:
I forgive everyone for everything, totally and unconditionally.
