A Box of Goodies from Julep

Image

Who can deny a box full of goodies?

Image

Last week I received this wonderful box from Julep and could not wait to post my review!

Julep is a women empowering company, that specializes in making women connect and feel great about themselves through their products. I ordered the Bombshell box and received two nail polishes, cuticle oil and a hand cream packet. Here is the best part, I received a $20 value box for $3.99, ALL BECAUSE JULEP HAD A BOX SPECIAL!!! This box was my intro/subscription box for the month of June.

I only payed for shipping!!!! 🙂

Julep nail colors: Natasha and Paris, cuticle oil and Rock Star Hand Cream.

I absolutely love Julep’s polishes. They paint on very smoothly and dry in no time!! The Bombshell Box is just my style. I love a good bright color and an added touch of sparkle to just about anything. The cuticle oil is has a light fragrance smell and provides an easy application with a rolling ball and the hand cream is very moisturizing. Just what’s needed for these hot and dry summer days.

If you become a Maven (member) at Julep.com, you can purchase a box and have one shipped to you automatically every month for $20.00. I was considering ordering just this one box and canceling my subscription, but I love the polishes so much that I am anxious to see what arrives in my next box this month!

The site also sells single polishes, beauty and body products and many other amazing sets.

Alysha, one of my close college friend’s, told me about this site and the special box offer and since I received it, I could not be any happier with the results and company! My friend is a blogger and shares great posts on finding jobs, interview/work outfits, beauty tips in preparation for work and other information regarding corporate jobs. Check out and follow Alysha’s blog at: http://www.classtocorporate.blogspot.com.

I definitely can say this company is good at connecting women and providing fabulous nail colors to brighten up any day!

Thank you Alysha and thank you Julep!!

Mango Banana Oatmeal Smoothie

I have always loved smoothies and I have began to love them even more since I’ve been eating cleaner. Usually I mix a variety of different combinatolions of fruits and liquids or research smoothie recipes and change them up a bit. There are so many combinations that can be made and that’s the best part! Yogurt based smoothies are my favorite, I prefer the richness in texture, rather than a more liquidity consistency. In addition, to help aid my weightloss, I replace a meal either each day of a week or every other day.

My newest favorite recipe is mango, banana oatmeal. This smoothie is incredibly filling and very, VERY tasty!

WHAT YOU NEED:
1 Banana
1/4 Cup of mango (You can use half a mango or Bolthouse Farm Mango smoothie).

(Blend it ALL together and ENJOY!!!)

Don’t suffer from dry hair, Deep Condition!!

How often do you deep condition your hair?

One thing I have realized is that my natural hair gets extremely dry. Some products my hair seem to soak up like a sponge, while others seem to be like water and oil. My hair gives me the “UH UHH, that’s not gonna work,” and the product gets put far back in my cabinet and never used again.

Leave in conditioners and moisturizers like, Cantu Shea Butter’s Leave in, Cantu Shea Butter Oil Moisturizer, Bio Infusion Olive Oil shine serum, as well as regular olive oil are all products that have kept my hair moisturized for a long time when used. My main concern is to keep my hair healthy and able to retain as much moisture as possible. Moisture helps retain length and overall gives my hair a more appealing look.

My newest product review is on Olive Cholesterol by Hollywood Beauty. The product is specifically made to condition and shine hair. Anything with olive oil is always a win, win for me!! This product is lightly scented, creamy and left my hair feeling super soft and more manageable. How did I apply this product? I simply applied the product from my roots, to my ends and covered my head with a plastic shower cap for 10-15 minutes. Next, I shampooed my hair and applied a leave in conditioner. I will be adding this product to my hair regimen as a deep conditioner, and using it at least 3 to 4 times a month.

Interview Ready

Image

I have an interview tomorrow for a position as a communications/marketing summer intern. I am extremely excited about the interview. I am big on getting experience in my field, especially when it comes to being able to write more and network. One thing I have learned about the communications field is that you have to be willing to network, be assertive, heavily involved in all types of media and willing to travel.

I  chose an outfit that would give off a classy appearance, as always.

I love how all the different pieces ended up pulling together. The dress is a loosely flowing ivory color, the cotton striped blazer is black and white, which I added to break up the nude strappy flats. I absolutely adore these shoes. The chains add a simple, yet chic look.

I added in some jewels that were a light scarlet color as well as a black clutch. The color of the jewels was a fun way to bring in some color and brighten up the look.

I will try and post a photo of myself before leaving to go! Wish me luck!!!
