The Little Black Dress Glow

ImageDress: H&M || Sweater: Charlotte Russe || Bag: Gucci || Shoes: Target || Watch Ring: Futura

It doesn’t take much to dress up a little black dress! I used neutral colors of brown, gold and beige to bring this look to life. Wearing a simple black dress doesn’t have to look like your last outfit alternative. Create an effortless glow! Add in lighter colors and make your little black dress fun! This is an ideal look that allows you to shine and glow without the use bright summer colors!

A Step in the Right Direction

I recently posted about preparing for an interview and THE GOOD NEWS is… I GOT OFFERED THE POSITION!!!!
This was the best news I could have ever received before the 4th of July holiday. This opportunity is truly a blessing! I will be able to work more with social media and blogging, do event photography, host art gallery events and a lot of other things.
The pictures included in the post are photos of the completed look.

Cheers to new beginnings!!!

Interview Ready

I have an interview tomorrow for a position as a communications/marketing summer intern. I am extremely excited about the interview. I am big on getting experience in my field, especially when it comes to being able to write more and network. One thing I have learned about the communications field is that you have to be willing to network, be assertive, heavily involved in all types of media and willing to travel.

I  chose an outfit that would give off a classy appearance, as always.

I love how all the different pieces ended up pulling together. The dress is a loosely flowing ivory color, the cotton striped blazer is black and white, which I added to break up the nude strappy flats. I absolutely adore these shoes. The chains add a simple, yet chic look.

I added in some jewels that were a light scarlet color as well as a black clutch. The color of the jewels was a fun way to bring in some color and brighten up the look.

I will try and post a photo of myself before leaving to go! Wish me luck!!!

Change Clothes Then Goo! : Wardrobe Additions

I recently made a Summer Goal List of different tasks I wanted to have completed. One of the things I want to do is slowly recreate my wardrobe.

I have clothes, on clothes, on clothes!

The main problem is that I have so much stuff that I really don’t know what I have.

Some things I feel are outdated, others I can’t fit and other items I simply just cannot find the might to throw them in the trash. Finding the time to go through all the stuff is another dilemma but I am working on it!

I attend a lot of events that require me to dress business casual. Despite that, I always try to incorporate a classy, sophisticated feel to my attire when I do get dressed on a daily basis.

Here are a few items I plan on adding to my wardrobe.

  • Sheer button down tops – Not only are they the latest trend in fashion but they’re comfortable and can easily be placed over a bandeau or camisole top.
  • Nude Sandals – A person can never go wrong with a nude shoe. A nude shoe has the ability to make an outfit come together!
  • High waist satin pants – I love blouses with rippled fabric in the front. High waisted pants have the ability to create a great structure when paired with the right shirt and can go with so many other choices of tops. A MUST HAVE!
  • Long patterned maxi skirt – I have always loved long flowing dresses and patterns. A patterned maxi skirt allows me to have the same feeling and option of  pairing it with a simple top.

These are just a few of things of the additions I want to make.

What do you think of my additions?

From Rags to Riches : DIY Project

We all have old clothes we just don’t want to get rid of. I know I do! This DIY Project might help save a few of your items.

Things You’ll Need:

  • item of clothing using for project (shirt, dress, etc.)
  • scissors
  • an elastic hair scrunchie or tie (Everyone has their own name for them.)
  • A black marker (to mark where cutting, if needed)

X marks the spot!

With that being said, if you find you have to cut your item to make a bigger shoulder strap place an X as a point to stop and cut each side.

After cutting, its time to flip your garment inside out and get ready to use the scrunchie/ hair tie.Tie the scrunchie/ hair tie around the bottom to create a closing for the bag.Flip the bag inside out and WAH LAA!!

Here is the final creation.

Please let me know if you try this DIY.

Happy bagging!
